Shark is moist with a dense texture, often described as meaty. Flavor is mild & sweet– similar to Swordfish.
Cooking Tips & Recipes
Soak thawed shark meat in a low-acid solution 30 minutes prior to cooking. This helps tenderize the meat and remove any strong flavors. Milk, buttermilk, lemon water and vinegar water are all great options.
Season & cook prepared fillets similar to swordfish–great with strong seasonings + grilling!
Because of it’s texture, shark is great for cubing and using for kebabs or in soups.
